I am experiencing health problems that
require placement of our current mature dogs.

We have the following dogs to place, many will be  1-3 years and few that are 4-5 years.
We are placing these as non breeding pet only placements.
We will send home their information for birthdates and vaccination records.  These are dogs we raised from puppies and will make exceptional companion Pets.

Puppies/Youth:

The follow puppies/breeds have had  potty training, we due use a kennel for extended absences and overnights:  $100 to $150 price range – Ages from 5 months to 7 months –  Dashalier (1 Female - 2 males), (King Charles Yorkies 2 femles, 1  males), (Cava Tzu - 2 males), (3 shorkie males).

We have the following Young litters that are are just old enough for placements:   Shorkies, Cava tzu and Dachshunds (Mini).     Purebred Dachshund females black & tan ($200 ea)  Longhairs 17 and 21 weeks old.  Potty Trained.

About Us

Kountry Pets is a family operation; headed up by Toni and Dennis Betz and supported by their 3 children as well as several important dedicated staff members. Toni and Dennis have vast experience raising and caring for animals, both are farm kids originally and continue this heritage with their family by offering a profound dedication and love for raising and caring for pet companions. Toni has several years past experience as a Veterinarian Technician working previously for a practice in Des Moines, Iowa. Dennis was raised on a farm in Ankeny, Iowa. Dennis’s father was one of the original Pioneer Farm Managers, their main responsibility was cattle. Dennis and Toni are the proud parents to (3) children: Kailah Betz is employed with Companion Animal Clinic in Gilbert, Iowa and undergraduate student at Iowa State University for Fall 2011, Kenton Betz is currently attending Des Area Community College starting his education in Ag Business and related studies. Kourtney Betz is completing her Senior year in High School at Roland Story starting in the Fall 2011. Kourtney is completing her Nurse’s aide advanced training currently. Due to the transition in the family workforce Kountry Pets will be completing some very important adjustments, we have added some additional staffing to fill the needs for the care of our puppies and dogs. We will be introducing these important staff members on the website shortly. What we do is not a 9-5 position but a 24/7 lifestyle. We pour or hearts and hard work into our pet profession. All of our puppy placements are made directly to the prospective families, a connection we cherish and value.

Important Puppy Information

Our puppies are raised in a country home environment and are well socialized by both kids and adults. We provide our puppies with special one on one attention from the day they arrive and continue this until placement with their forever family. We work with our puppies on housetraining immediately upon weaning. We provide our puppies, youth and adult ample playtime to offer our forever families a new family member that is well adjusted, social and loving. Your new puppy will have current age-appropriate vaccinations, worming, Frontline, Veterinarian exam and purchase warranty for health and genetics.

Location

We are a small family facility located on 12 acres just outside Story City, Iowa. Story City, Iowa is located about 45 minutes north of Des Moines, Iowa. We are conveniently located 1 ½ miles off I-35 (exit 128) on hard surface. We ship nationwide via Delta Pets (air).

Petite Lines

We offer a wide variety of Petite lines in the following pure breeds and crosses: Cavalier King Charles, Pug, Mini Dachshund, Yorkie Poo, Shorkie, Cava-Tzu, Pugalier, Puggle, King Charles Yorkie, Shih-Poo, Lhasa Poo and Dorkies. These lines provide you with a pet companion that will mature with a smaller frame/body size in weight while staying true to the breed standards in appearance.

Showings/Appointment/Visit

All showing/visits are held within our Nursery home, providing our customers the environment our puppies and youth are raised within. Our Mom & Dads have been with us since babies as well, they are on site for viewing. We are open daily for visits; we do request all visitors set an appointment to provide one-on-one attention while viewing puppies, youth and adults.
